this position will play a critical role in ensuring vehicles and equipment are in proper working condition. Key responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, diagnose repairs needed for various automobiles, trucks, and heavy equipment, purchase parts and supplies, complete all required paperwork, process invoices and work orders. This position will also respond to emergency road service calls.

your specific responsibilities

performs skilled work in the diagnosis, repair, overhaul and replacement of gasoline or diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and other parts and major components in automobiles, trucks, heavy equipment, and other related equipment. Field test vehicles and equipment to ensure the repairs have been satisfactorily completed. Repairs, changes, and balances tires on automotive and heavy equipment. Supervises department of corrections inmates crew performing maintenance activities.

performs preventative maintenance work to ensure that equipment is maintained and is in proper working order. Performs periodic maintenance, repair, and preparation of seasonal equipment.

complies with all waste generation, storage, and disposal laws, rules, and policies. Assists in the maintenance of proper documentation of all waste generation and disposal activities. Elevates questions/items of concern to shop manager.

submits requests for parts and supplies. Responsible for properly tracking and reporting time charged on various work activities and completing shop work orders. Purchases parts and shop supplies as p-card holder and is accountable for proper processing of invoices and completion of required paperwork and work…
