Building Maintenance, Facility Maintenance
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.50/hr Part-Time, Less than 30 hours/week
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for providing general oversight, planning and safety for the facility and infrastructure including maintenance, IT, office equipment, and cleaning. This person’s primary goal is to provide a proper physical environment for the girls while also safeguarding the investment in the campus. Other responsibilities include ensuring contract and quality assurance compliance in regards to safety and security standards.
and Responsibilities
- Ensure overall safety, maintenance and cleanliness of campus, facilities and equipment.
- Develop and maintain a scheduled facility maintenance and improvement plan to include short term and long term planning objectives including submission of budget proposal to support such projects.
- Conduct scheduled campus inspections and work with ED to assess and prioritize maintenance and safety compliance issues.
- Ensure center is in full compliance with all agency contracts including DJJ Q/A standards regarding maintenance, vehicles and safety.
- Supervise external contracted vendors such as: landscapers, plumbers, electricians, cleaning and floor care, roofers, locksmiths, furniture dealers, IT vendors, audio-visual equipment, and general office equipment vendors.
- Performs minor maintenance and/or special cleaning projects/duties as needed.
- Obtain bids from vendors as needed and make recommendations to ED.
- Oversees building supply inventories and orders supplies as needed.
- Maintain storage spaces to ensure organization, cleanliness and safety.
- Ensure the maintenance of agency vehicles.
- Schedule and supervise scheduled safety drills such as: fire, tornado, emergency drills (codes red, yellow and green) and first aid.
- Oversee general space use including the use by external entities.
- Supervise set-up and break down of facility’s group spaces for events.
- Ensure equipment and supplies are made available for meeting and events.
- Assists with on and off campus special events, as needed.
- Performs other campus related duties as required or instructed by Executive Director
- Minimum of High School Diploma.
- Minimum of one-year experience in facility maintenance/repair
- Experience in general trades as well as landscaping, irrigation systems, HVAC, drywall and painting.
- Must adhere to Agency Values and Principles.
- Upholds the ethical standards of the Agency and 6B-1.001 Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida.
- Follows policies and procedures of the Agency
- Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements.
- Must be able to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required
- Knowledge of state and school district policies
- Completion of vocational school or Bachelors Degree
