Description:
Houseman – Sarasota Residence
The Houseman is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness, and overall functionality of a large private residence in Sarasota. This hands‑on position supports daily operations, ensures the home is well maintained, and provides high‑level service to the principals and their guests. Duties include general cleaning, pool maintenance, handyman tasks, repairs, maintenance, driving, inventory support, and assistance with events and seasonal projects.
The Houseman works closely with the Estate Manager and other household staff to ensure a smooth, service‑focused environment.
Property Care & Maintenance
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the property and promptly report maintenance needs to the Estate Manager.
- Perform maintenance tasks, appliance troubleshooting, basic repairs, and general handyman work.
- Assist with seasonal projects, household improvements, and renovation support.
- Pressure wash exterior areas and assist with deep cleaning tasks as needed.
- Service and maintain the pool.
- Perform routine checks of lighting, HVAC, AV, smart home, and household systems, reporting any issues.
- Interact with and supervise vendors.
- Open and close the residence daily or as scheduled, ensuring all areas are secure.
- Support with deliveries, pick‑ups, errands, and general household assistance.
- Greet guests, assist with luggage, and provide day‑to‑day hospitality support.
- Prepare household spaces for guest arrival and assist with in‑home events.
- Ensure household vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained.
- Provide access to vendors and service providers and coordinate onsite work as directed.
- Monitor property access, maintain simple visitor logs, and support overall household security.
- Assist with general indoor and outdoor cleaning and organization.
- Track, manage, and restock household inventory and supplies.
- Receive, unpack, and organize packages and household deliveries.
- Run local errands, supply shopping, and pickups as needed.
Experience: 3–5 years in a private household or luxury hospitality environment.
Technical
Skills:
Comfortable with smart home systems, basic technology, and handheld devices.
Maintenance Knowledge: Working knowledge of home maintenance, basic repairs, and pool care (training available).
Communication: Clear, professional, and respectful communication skills.
Organization: Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Problem‑Solving: Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently.
Professionalism: Discreet, trustworthy, dependable, and service‑oriented.
Schedule: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for maintenance purposes.
