POSITION WILL BE ADVERTISED UNTIL FILLED
This position serves schools in the Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar, and Mary Esther areas only.
Position is on-call as needed. Assistance with the safety of school children as they cross busy roadways during school hours. When called to work, hours are approximately 4 hours per day, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, up to 5 days per week when school is in session.

Responsibilities- Assists elementary and middle school aged children across streets going to home and school.
- Protects the children from the path of careless or inattentive drivers.
- Alerts motorists through visibility and conspicuity that children are about to use the crosswalk.
- Lengthens or creates gaps in traffic in order to allow children to cross.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk at a moderate/fast pace, step up/down 4-5 inch street curbs, bend/squat, and manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment.
- Good hearing at normal range or with accommodation, good vision at normal range or with accommodation.
- Working conditions are outdoors with exposure to the elements, fumes and/or outdoor particles.
