Location: Sarasota

A prestigious AMLAW 200 law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join its Sarasota office. This role supports a busy litigation practice and plays a critical part in delivering exceptional service to attorneys and clients while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive litigation and legal administrative support to attorneys
  • Handle case opening, conflicts checks, billing coordination, records, and firm processes
  • File pleadings in Florida State and Federal courts in compliance with court rules
  • Draft, proofread, and manage correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents
  • Calculate deadlines and manage calendars to ensure compliance with court requirements
  • Schedule hearings, client meetings, and appointments

    Assist with the client billing process, including narratives, edits, deadlines, and delivery
  • Track attorney and client expenses; process reimbursements and payments
  • Maintain electronic and paper case files
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail, calls, and professional communications
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of Florida law firm experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal
  • Experience in mid- to large-size law firm environments
  • Strong knowledge of Florida rules of procedure and court filing systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to outstanding client service and follow-through
Technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with law firm case management and billing systems required
  • Familiarity with iManage, Smart Time, Aderant, and Relativity is a plus
  • Onsite position – not remote or hybrid
  • Role involves regular typing, document handling, and professional communication
