Senior Attorney – Diversion/Discipline Consultation Service #2151

Lawyer Regulation Headquarters | Tallahassee

Minimum starting salary $87,804.63 with an excellent benefits package including employer paid pension contribution. Employees of The Florida Bar are eligible to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).

Summary Function

Provides Diversion/Discipline Consultation Services;
Administers the Lawyer Regulation Practice and Professionalism Enhancement Program (PPEP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conducts court-ordered discipline and diversion consultations throughout the state, handles highly confidential information, prepares comprehensive reports on administrative management consultations.

Administers the Lawyer Regulation Practice and Professionalism Enhancement Program (PPEP): oversight, scheduling and attending Ethics School and other bar workshops; updating presentations and written materials; monitoring files for attorney compliance; handling noncompliance and HQ order to show cause matters.

Researches, reviews and maintains familiarity with a wide variety of new information relating to law practice management: new Bar rules, ethics opinions, technology, marketing, case management, law firm economics, records information management, and general law office management through reading, courses, and professional networks.

Develops resources such as checklists, forms, presentations for Florida Bar members; serves as speaker at Bar-sponsored events.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Required

Minimum Education

Juris Doctorate and a Florida Bar Member in Good Standing.

Required Minimum Professional Work Experience

Three (3) years legal experience as an attorney.

Additional Information

Certified Legal Manager (CLM) certificate preferred, but not required.

  • Law office management principles, techniques, and best practices including law firm economics; financial management and reporting; trust accounting; human resources management and recruiting; communications; paralegal utilization guidelines; facilities management; records information management; marketing; technology management; legal research methods and library management; structure and governance of law offices and law firms; plan retreats, start-ups, mergers, acquisitions and dissolutions, and general law office management.
  • The Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and The Florida Bar Ethics Opinions.
  • Seminar course development, production and presentation.
  • Commonly used equipment, software, vendors, products, and service providers in the legal marketplace.
