The opportunity

Our Government & Public Sector (GPS) Digital Engineering practice is helping organizations solve complex problems through purpose‑led transformation. We combine an understanding of the public sector’s mission needs with private‑sector best practices to deliver innovative digital experiences that help our clients succeed and thrive.

Your key responsibilities
  • Translating complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications
  • Configuring and implementing solutions that align with business needs
  • Participate in discovery meetings with clients and prospects to understand and document their business requirements
  • Propose and design solutions using the extensive Power Platform capabilities to solve the identified business requirements
  • Customize Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform applications
  • Work with developers and configuration resources to define and create specifications for any custom code or data migration requirements
  • Developing solutions to complex problems and recommending policy changes
  • Establishing procedures that affect your immediate work area and possibly the broader business function
  • Exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Train end‑users
  • Analytical prowess and decision‑making based on a broad understanding of policies
  • Ability to guide and develop junior team members
Manager‑level responsibilities within the firm
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships
  • Create innovative insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership
  • Anticipate and identify risks, and elevate any issues as appropriate
  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff; help create a positive learning culture
  • Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
Skills and attributes for success
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience coming up with solutions to problems
  • Prior consulting experience
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Proven track record of complex problem‑solving and relationship management
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery and development methodologies
  • Must be comfortable working in‑person as needed

Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel 20–30% or more.

Ideally,

you’ll also have
  • Microsoft Certifications and prior consulting experience highly preferred
  • Expertise in developing written and visual communication products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with clients and identify engagement follow‑on opportunities

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this role in all U.S. geographic locations is $142,600 to $261,500. In New York City, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) it is $171,200 to $297,200. Individual salaries are determined by factors including education, experience, skills and geography.
