Position Overview

The IT Project Manager will lead and manage a portfolio of information technology projects, including software development, hardware replacements, governance initiatives, data migrations, business intelligence, and strategic planning. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies, project tracking tools, and performance measurement techniques such as Earned Value Management (EVM), Cost Performance Index (CPI), and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).

The Project Manager will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear requirements definition, alignment with strategic objectives, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead and manage IT projects including software development, hardware upgrades, data migrations, governance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI, and SPI for effective budget tracking and schedule monitoring.
  • Plan, track, and manage projects using tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Trello.
  • Operate within Agile frameworks (Scrum and Feature Driven Design) to deliver iterative solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to PMBOK standards and departmental project governance guidelines.
Requirements & Business Analysis
  • Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather, validate, and refine requirements.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintain traceability in Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub.
  • Develop functional specifications, business cases, and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments for system changes and enhancements.
Process Modeling & Documentation
  • Utilize UML, BPMN, and process flow diagrams for accurate modeling and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, data models, and business rules.
  • Maintain risk registers, issue logs, and mitigation plans.
Testing, Implementation & Quality Assurance
  • Support and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and test case creation.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate business needs into technical solutions and oversee rollout activities.
  • Perform quality assurance and validation to ensure solutions meet business and compliance standards.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
  • Provide regular project status updates, weekly reports, and timesheets.
  • Support change management, training, communication, and user adoption strategies.
  • Coach, mentor, and train internal team members and staff.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT projects involving software development, hardware replacements, data migrations, governance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong experience as an IT Project Manager for software development projects.
  • Proficiency in eliciting requirements, documenting user stories, and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Hands‑on experience using Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub for backlog management and traceability.
  • Experience creating and executing user acceptance test cases.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Feature Driven Design.
  • Experience with Earned Value, CPI, SPI, and budget tracking and monitoring.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Trello.
  • Experience analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) to provide insights and support decision‑making.
Preferred Experience
  • Extensive experience in business process modeling and continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record managing large‑scale, cross‑functional IT programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking, data analysis, and problem‑solving abilities.
