Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Systems Programmer III, you will be a member of the Platform Motorist Support (PMS) team which is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and providing support for all Motorist field critical solutions, processes and connectivity delivered by the PMS team for the benefit of the Agency, the State and our citizens. The PMS team provides installation, configuration, integration, and technical support for the Department's FDLIS/FRVIS field systems and including but not limited to printers, desktops, systems hardware/software, monitoring tools, security logs, secure access for individuals and mobile users/offices, and Tax Collectors.
The PMS team also provides field support, administration and level 2 technical support for optimal performance, security and collaboration for the Agency and our customers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft technologies ($COM, SCCM, Power Shell, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
- Knowledge of systems administration processes, tools, disciplines, and best practices.
- Knowledge of DNS concepts and DHCP concepts.
- Knowledge of information security best practices.
- Skill in administering Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2/2016 and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Skill in use of network tools and server tools to analyze system problems.
- Skill in large scale software deployments.
- Skill in writing technical data processing reports.
- Proficient in Power Shell, batch, and command line scripting for administration of Enterprise systems.
- Ability to thoroughly review, comprehend, update, and implement technical design documents and technical procedures.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
- Ability to evaluate and resolve user problems.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and assignments.
- Ability to effectively work as a team member and independently to complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to review projects, processes, and data to quickly identify problem areas.

- The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
- Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m., although working on weekends may occasionally be required. This position may also be on-call after hours and weekends and is eligible for overtime pay.
