Responsibilities

This position is a part of the ITS Campus Team. The College of Medicine’s Office of Information Technology, OIT or MED IT, serves to support the faculty, staff, and students in all areas requiring IT assistance, but specifically in these example areas; deployment of individual use computers, classroom technology, conference room technology, software support, administration of Audio Visual equipment and components, event support and live streaming, account support and maintenance, maintenance of departmental servers both on-premise and in the cloud, network support and troubleshooting, systems development and monitoring, development of specialized department software, database maintenance and support, IT purchasing and contract management, monitoring for cybersecurity threats, protection of privacy, and general IT consulting.

Team members from MED IT have expertise in each of these areas and support the educational, research, clinical, and community outreach activities for the College of Medicine.

This position is responsible for identifying and deploying information technology for the College of Medicine and budgetary management of OIT.

Works under the direction of the Director of Information Technology to deliver support services to faculty, students and staff. Responsible for leveraging information technology staff at the main campus and MED regional locations in the delivery of services. Responsible for technology staff development and succession planning. Serves as project leader for the implementation of technology projects ks with other medical and state entities to ensure that the MED cooperates/collaborates with other entities.

Responsible for the provision of leadership and direction for the Office of Information Technology Service Desk for College of Medicine. Oversees technology support personnel at the Service Desk:
Monitors work queues for performance issues and develops improvement plans based on trending data, provides direction and assistance with workflows and coverage as needed. Serves as immediate supervisor for the IT Manager of the Service Desk. Oversees technology support COM Clinical Learning Center (CLC): guides technology support for critical CLC activities surrounding College accreditation.

Responsible for the provision of leadership and direction for the Office of Information Client Management Team for College of Medicine. Oversees technology support personnel in Client Management:
Monitors work queues for performance issues and develops improvement plans based on trending data, provides direction and assistance with workflows and coverage as needed. Serves as immediate supervisor for the IT Manager of Client Management. Responsible for direction of audio-visual needs of the College; including but not limited to classroom and conference rooms, LCs, and lecture capture.

Responsible for the day-to-day direction of contracts management, procurement processing, and budget management for the Office of Information Technology, to include leadership and direction of administrative staff, the inventory control processes, procurement strategies, vendor selection, and software licensing management. Works directly with ITS Procurement, FSU Procurement, FSU Contracts Management, and FSU Legal Counsel to ensure contracts and procurement compliance for all purchases made by the College of Medicine Office of Information Technology or on behalf of College of Medicine departments.

Qualifications

Master's degree and four years' experience related to technical services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years in the same area.

    Experience in developing, documenting, and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve service consistency and team efficiency.
  • Budget and Procurement Insight:
    Experience navigating complex procurement processes, vendor selections, and budget management.
  • Contract Oversight & Management:
    Proven expertise in the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including vendor negotiation, software licensing management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with legal and procurement departments to ensure fiscal and institutional compliance.
