You will play a crucial role by developing, maintaining, and governing enterprise architecture artifacts that align information technology capabilities with joint operational mission requirements. This role provides architectural oversight across network, cloud, data, application, and cybersecurity domains to enable secure, resilient, and interoperable IT services across the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The position leverages Sparx Enterprise Architect as the authoritative modeling and repository tool to document current-state and future-state architectures, trace requirements to capabilities, and support governance, investment decisions, and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture Development

  • Develop and maintain USCENTCOM J6 enterprise architecture artifacts using Sparx Enterprise Architect, including operational, system, service, data, and technical views.
  • Model current-state (as-is) and future-state (to-be) architectures in alignment with mission priorities and modernization objectives.
  • Translate operational and IT requirements into architectural models, standards, and patterns.
  • Ensure architectural traceability between mission needs, capabilities, systems, and technical solutions.

Architecture Governance & Standards

  • Support J6 architecture governance processes, boards, and technical review forums.
  • Evaluate proposed IT initiatives, changes, and requirements for architectural compliance and alignment.

Tooling & Repository Management

  • Establish and maintain DoDAF and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect models as authoritative architecture records.
  • Define modeling conventions, viewpoints, and metadata standards within DoDAF and/or Sparx to ensure consistency and reuse.
  • Integrate DoDAF and/or Sparx architecture artifacts with requirements management, CMDB, ITSM, and portfolio management processes.
  • Support onboarding and adoption of Sparx across J6 and supporting teams.

Requirements, Portfolio & Modernization Support

  • Collaborate with requirements managers to ensure architectural alignment and feasibility of IT requirements.
  • Support capability development, investment planning, and prioritization using architecture-driven analysis.
  • Provide architecture inputs to modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, Zero Trust, data strategy, and network evolution.
  • Enable impact analysis for proposed changes across systems, services, and mission threads.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Coordinate with J6 divisions, CENTCOM directorates, component commands, DISA, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Develop architecture briefings, visualizations, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to J6 leadership on enterprise architecture strategy and implementation.
