position summaryunder the direct supervision of the criminal justice information services (cjis) manager i, this position is responsible for the review and processing of missing data in the biometric identification system (bis) and the computerized criminal history (cch). This position must meet and maintain national crime information center/florida crime information center (ncic/fcic) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
duties& responsibilities
specific duties include:
- conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases to support additions, deletions, and modifications to cch;
- analyzing multiple source documents, forms a recommendation, and entering addition, deletion, and modifications in cch following bss standard operations manual;
- maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice, other criminal justice agencies outside the state of florida, non-criminal justice agencies for the purpose of gathering required documentation to gain clarification as needed for record modifications;
- reviewing, organizing, and processing arrest fingerprint cards;
- scanning, entering demographic and charge historical data into bis and cch;
- monitoring workflow system for cases pending review;
- evaluating changes to cch record and analyzing attached documentation to support the cch addition, deletion, or modification;
- reviewing all relevant information in order to approve or reject the modification as outlined in the bss operations manual;
- querying criminal history system to verify records processed correctly; and
- processing incoming requests and fingerprint cards, evaluating for completeness, and entering into bis and cch workflow.

- knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
- ability to utilize problem‑solving techniques;
- ability to lift 20‑pound boxes;
- ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
- ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
- ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments; and
- ability to communicate effectively.

base salary- $18.82/hour
