Location: Captiva
Overview
Position:
Room Attendant at South Seas, Captiva Island. This is a full-time role with a 40-hour work week; a flexible schedule and weekend and/or holiday work may be required.
- Always comply with company standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety for guests, fellow associates, and self.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
- Maintain guest rooms, villas, homes of distinction, and buildings to ensure a safe and clean experience for owners, guests, associates, and vendors.
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Complete daily assignment checklists and submit them to supervisor.
- Set up cleaning caddies with supplies and prepare linen bags; maintain transportation vans and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Complete pre-cleaning duties and prepare guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping caddies and transportation van setup.
- Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of units per shift.
- Remove trash and dirty linen from guest rooms, villas, and homes of distinction.
- Strip beds and remake with fresh linens; check closets for cleanliness and restock guest room supplies.
- Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets, baseboards, fixtures, vents, ceiling fans, and kitchen appliances in units per shift.
- Clean showers, tubs, toilets, and bathroom amenities; ensure adequate supplies for arriving guests.
- Vacuum and steam floors and carpets; attend to stains; dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Inspect door and window locks and report any unsecured or unsafe situations.
- Check lights and remotes to ensure proper functioning.
- Handle items for lost and found according to resort standards.
- Turn in keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office at end of shift.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Experience:
Residences/Villas/Resort or related experience preferred. - Preferred:
Valid driver’s license; motor vehicle background check may be completed.
- Clear communication with guests and associates.
- Ability to evaluate and select among actions quickly and accurately.
- Works well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; maintains composure under pressure.
- Effective listening and clarifying concerns of coworkers and guests.
- Team-oriented but able to work independently; strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning principles, products, and equipment.
- Stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, and stoop for prolonged periods.
- Lifting up to 40 lbs; ability to push/pull equipment up to 100 lbs.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and work in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures and humidity.
40 hours per week; flexible schedule; weekend and/or holiday work required.
