This position serves as an OPS Government Operations Consultant II for the Florida Department of Health’s Refugee Health Program, focusing on analyzing data to ensure refugee health services are being conducted timely at the county health departments. As an OPS Government Operations Consultant II, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department’s mission to improve the health outcomes of refugees by leveraging data-driven insights and providing oversight to ensure effectiveness of programs.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Organize and clean large datasets related to refugee health, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual data reports.
  • Conduct quality assurance and improvement audits/monitoring.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop meaningful reports.
  • Conduct analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within refugee health data.
  • Generate actionable insights and recommendations to inform decision‑making processes.
  • Develop clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to county health departments and Department leadership.
  • Modernize the way the program analyzes, visualizes, and utilizes program data.
  • Complete ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Submit reports and data requests to federal and/or state partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of public health issues and challenges.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare information systems.
  • Knowledge of data systems.
  • Knowledge of data analysis.
  • Ability to organize and clean datasets.
  • Ability to run data reports and compile findings.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and monitoring processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in data analysis, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Business Management, IT) can substitute for required experience.
  • Experience in working with data systems.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools.
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods.
  • Experience working, organizing, and cleaning large datasets ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Experience in providing oversight and monitoring of data systems.
  • Experience completing quality assurance and improvement audits.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred (preference Given To)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Business Management, IT).
  • Preferably 1–3 years proven experience in data analysis in the context of public health or humanitarian settings.
  • Proven experience working, organizing, and cleaning large datasets ensuring data quality and accuracy. Preferred 2 or more years.
  • Proven experience with running data reports and compiling data reports. Preferred 2 or more years.
  • Proven experience with data analysis and identifying trends in data. Preferred 2 or more years.
  • Preferably 1–3 years experience conducting contract monitoring audits on data systems for quality assurance and improvement.
