Role
Summary:
The Material Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available to meet the needs of scheduled surgical procedures. This role manages purchasing, storage, and distribution of materials to support efficient, high-quality patient care.
Hours:
- Monday–Friday schedule
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels to support daily surgical operations
- Review surgery schedules to anticipate supply and equipment needs
- Order, receive, and distribute supplies in accordance with facility policies
- Manage vendor relationships, review pricing, and coordinate special equipment requests
- Ensure accuracy of purchase orders, invoices, and backorders
- Support facility safety, infection control, and quality management programs
- Maintain organized and secure storage areas
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team initiatives
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required; experience in materials management preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and inventory management systems
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly
