The Environmental Services Worker performs environmental services throughout the CLH facility. The position involves exposure to visible or invisible blood contamination or blood-borne pathogens; follow CLH policies related to blood-borne pathogen exposure and biohazard waste, and follow procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, moving or removing objects/materials and cleaning up blood, infectious materials or bodily fluids.
This position must follow written and oral directions given by the supervisor, Plant Operations Director or designee; observe infection control procedures; protect patient’s privacy and dignity; handle chemicals and equipment safely; attend meetings and training sessions as assigned; perform duties in a timely manner; report to work on time and be groomed professionally per CLH Core Policies and Procedures, as well as Department Policies and Procedures;
identify safety hazards and correct them promptly with notification to the Plant Operations Director.
- Performs environmental services to assure patients’ rooms, restrooms, halls, common areas, offices, waiting areas and patient care areas throughout CLH facilities are clean, orderly and sanitary.
- Provide a supply of clean, disinfected linens at all times
- Keep linens and clothing washed, dried, folded and stored in designated areas on a daily basis.
- Operates and maintains equipment appropriately and safely, including brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, dryers and ladders.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- High School Graduate (preferred) or Equivalent
- Previous EVS or Housekeeping Experience
- Good Communication and Listening Skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
