Responsibilities

This position performs analysis in support of internal investigations, assesses complaints and provides recommendations, and conducts data analysis to detect and deter fraud and misconduct. This includes retrieving data from Department, public, criminal justice, and other databases, and provides analytical reports and written recommendations to investigative staff. This position assesses complaints, administers public records requests, processes case reports and daily phone requests.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Certified Florida Law Enforcement Analyst.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
  • Experience using Data Analytic Tools, and/or Experience in Computer Forensics.
  • Composing correspondence, memos, reports, meeting summaries, presentations, and/or publications.
  • Reviewing and/or proofreading documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Processing public records request.
  • Handling customer complaints.
  • Processing purchasing requests.
  • Processing state travel requests.
  • Conducting transcriptions.
  • Coordinating meetings.
  • Using data analytic tools.
  • Computer forensics.
Job Related Requirements
  • The position is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with CJIS clearance, including a fingerprint-based check of the FBI criminal records, as a condition of employment pursuant to Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.
  • Occasional travel and overtime.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
General Information
  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to § 110.113 Florida Statutes.
