Anticipated Salary: $47,000

The position will be located at Headquarters in Tallahassee and is not a remote position.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop useful and engaging content for target audiences and the Department’s social media sites. This includes written materials, graphics, photography, video, and other campaign materials.
  • Assembles and summarizes information for use by the professional staff. Assists Executive Staff with special projects that support the Office of the Secretary and other State leadership.
  • Assists with the development of Office of Communications annual strategic plan, the social media strategic plan, and various marketing campaign strategic plans.
  • Identifies social media opportunities and strategies to proactively communicate the Department’s mission and provide information to the public.
  • Tracks social media analytics and plans for future outreach based on performance metrics.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of current social media practices
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to collect and analyze data relating to public relations, social media or report writing
  • Ability to operate photographic equipment to capture images
  • Ability to develop appealing social media
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities
  • Ability to multitask, using a high level of problem-solving skills and judgement
  • Ability to work on concurrent projects whether collaborative or independent
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments which meet deadlines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-3 years of professional social media and communication experience.

* Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
