This position is in the Director's Office of the Division of Blind Services in Tallahassee, Florida. The incumbent will support the development, evaluation, and maintenance of policies and procedures that align with federal and state regulations and guidelines. The role ensures the Division's compliance with evolving legal requirements, assists with legislative and rule making processes, and interprets and communicates complex information. The incumbent will review and edit programmatic and fiscal policies, and update senior leadership on policy development and improvement.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Maintain and practice a current understanding of FDOE and DBS policies and guidelines regarding information security.
- Model and demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and approachability while adhering to applicable laws, rules, and policies.
- Exhibit effective communication, collaboration, and cooperation.
- Coordinate and track periodic review of all Division policies and procedures.
- Conduct analysis of administrative, program, and fiscal operations to recommend enhancements to both Division and Bureau-level policies and procedures.
- Develop Division-level policies and assist with updating and editing programmatic and fiscal policies.
- Present information about policy recommendations and updates to stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinate meetings with Division Bureaus to review and analyze internal process controls for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain a centralized repository of all division policies and procedures, conducting regular reviews to identify and address potential gaps and inconsistencies.
- Track and monitor the routing and approval process of all policy documents to ensure timely completion and adherence to agency deadlines.
- Collaborate with several bureaus within the Division to review, analyze, and assist with policy planning and monitoring.
- Assist with rule making and rule development for the Division.

- Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation of reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of assignments.

- Understanding and application of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in operational and management activities.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Public Policy or Public Administration.
