Position: SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Hurlburt Field

Duties - Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the branch; to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and programs meet customer needs - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management - Coordinates with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with civilian and military managers, functional counterparts, and technical experts at multiple internal organizations and levels (AFSOC subordinate units, HQ AFSOC directorates, HQ Air Force and other MAJCOMS, HQ USSOCOM and other Components, DoD joint commands, etc.)

- Develops and interprets accounting or financial program policies, procedures, and standards. AFSOC focal point for oversight on all accounting, finance and budget policies, and procedures Requirements Conditions of employment

* Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with JTR may be required in performance of TDY
* This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with these requirements
* Open only to Department of the Air Force Employees ONLY Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions GS13 Supervisory Financial Management Specialist. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Mastery of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, and regulations of financing; and the financial and budgetary relationships between subordinate and most senior levels of financial management and budgeting within the command entity and between the organization and programs of other federal, state, and local governments, private industry, and large public organizations sufficient to manage and analyze the command cost analysis programs.

In-depth knowledge of the financial management disciplines in accounting, budgeting, auditing, and funding execution practices, including financial processes of USSOCOM, Air Force, DoD, and OMB. Practical knowledge of advanced database and spreadsheet design. In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition process and military command structure and missions in order to develop and perform studies that affect bases throughout the command. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
