Minimum Qualifications- Five (5) years of experience in accounting or financial management, two (2) of which must have been in financial account management, auditing, or account reconciliation; or
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university, and one (1) year of professional experience in financial account management, auditing, or account reconciliation can substitute for the required experience
Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint‑based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework.

Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.
- Pre‑audit and payment processing of expenditures for purchases, including recurring charges, reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, contracts, and other payment requests.
- Verification of account codes, supporting documentation, authorization signatures, necessary justifications, vendor information, mathematical accuracy of amounts, and review of required reports.
- Coordinate transactions with budget and divisions, ensuring proper Chart of Accounts, OAI, OA2, Project , Speed Key, etc., are used; advise, interpret, and counsel employees and customers on accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate efforts with vendors, Purchasing Office, FBO managers, and other related areas to ensure orderly, timely and proper handling of invoices.
- Reconcile expenditure records, submit adjustments or corrections as required using the PALM IU module.
- Act as liaison with FWC staff and Accounting Services on financial matters; manage vouchers, warrants, confirmations, and other audit documentation.
- Research financial transactions as needed and correct errors by recording entries in the State’s financial management system.
- Complete required training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, methods of reviewing and analyzing financial data, and basic management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of the Florida Reference Guide to State Expenditures.
- Ability to assess budgetary needs and formulate policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities; to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternatives and document work.
