Financial Controller

The Controller will manage all aspects of accounting and finance for our manufacturing operations. This role requires a detail-oriented and strategic finance professional who can lead a team, implement accounting best practices, and provide insights to drive business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, and payroll.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3+ finance professionals, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Develop and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory valuation for manufacturing operations.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
• Drive process improvements and implement accounting systems and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and procurement teams to provide financial guidance.
• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role.
• Manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred, with knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong leadership experience managing a team of 3+ professionals.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting systems implementation.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency (experience with [insert ERP system if applicable, e.g., SAP, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics]).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
