the work you will do:materials specialist-precast/prestress / district one / district materials office
the position will be assigned precast/prestress plants that they will inspect on a certain frequency based on the type of plant to ensure compliance with fdot specifications. You will also review and process quality control plans for these plants on an annual basis. In addition, you will sample reinforcing steel from their plants, which is then provided to the state materials office, for testing.
Beyond that, you will provide technical support for their assigned plants in the event it is required. The position contributes to the department by ensuring that precast/prestress products used on departmental projects adhere to all applicable guidelines and specifications.

where you will work: annual salary range:$51,208.13 - $66,269.35
a competitive area differential (cad) additive in the amount of $478.40 will be added to the annual salary.
your specific responsibilities:perform field and/or laboratory testing in accordance with the applicable florida sampling and testing methods (fstm), american association of state highway and transportation officials (aashto) or american society of testing and materials (astm) test methods. Report results precisely in the appropriate database. Keep all testing equipment calibrated and in good working order.
inspect component materials for compliance with florida department of transportation (fdot) specifications.
