Preferred Availability: Part time (20-30 hours)
This position will support Polk Power Station’s Engineering and Technical Team. The role focuses on mechanical reliability of all systems, providing maintenance solutions, equipment inspections, and improving operational performance. Physical location is at Polk Power Station 9995 FL-37S, Mulberry, FL 33860.
AccountabilitiesAssist the station with mechanical reliability of all systems, provide maintenance solutions, conduct equipment inspections, and contribute to operational performance.
Working ConditionsPower Station environment primarily office-based with occasional field walking; may involve exposure to heights, dust, heat, and noise.
Qualifications- Education: Enrollment in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or graduate‑level student in a related discipline.
- Co‑Op Requirements: Enrollment in the university’s co‑op program (proof required); if not eligible, considered an intern.
- GPA: Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Degree: Engineering (preferred).
- Preferred Discipline: Mechanical.
- Year in School: Junior or Senior.

Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment. Team members are required to participate in response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to TECO Energy customers. Work may continue in normal job duties or other assigned activities with proper compensation.
