Procurement Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer or Project Manager–level professional to lead and execute procurement activities supporting a large-scale capital generation initiative.

This role is designed for an engineering or project management professional who has led procurement efforts as part of major capital projects. The ideal candidate is not a pure procurement specialist, but someone who understands how engineering, construction, and contracts intersect in large industrial environments.

Procurement Execution

• Support and execute against an established procurement plan with all packages identified
• Step into active procurements across multiple stages
• Modify and update RFP templates, bid packages, and tracking tools
• Manage document tracking and procurement data files

RFP & Bid Process Management

• Develop and issue RFP documents to the market
• Coordinate with internal engineering, project management, and external consultants
• Manage the full proposal lifecycle
• Summarize vendor responses and prepare evaluation materials
• Support bid analysis and recommendation letter preparation

Contract Negotiation & Award

• Participate in vendor calls and redlining with legal
• Assist with negotiation strategy and execution
• Support final contract award
• Manage scope-specific contracts, including:
• Construction contracts (piping, valves, multi-million-dollar construction work)

Field Contract Support

• Support field changes and contract amendments during execution
• Assist with tracking and documentation throughout the contract lifecycle
• Provide real-time contract support in a field-driven environment

• Project Engineer or Project Manager background
• Experience supporting or leading procurement on large capital projects
• Experience managing large equipment or construction procurements
• Strong understanding of where construction projects break down and how procurement impacts execution
• Comfortable operating in a construction-oriented, field-driven environment
• Strong communicator able to work directly with engineers, PMs, contractors, and legal teams

• Power generation industry experience preferred
• Combined cycle plant exposure is a plus (not required)
• Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering background preferred
• Experience with large-scale, multi-package procurement environments

• Microsoft Word and Excel (heavy usage)
• Document tracking and data file management
• No specialized procurement software required
• Updating and maintaining bid templates
