We are partnered with a long time client of ours to add to their existing team. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join an existing team due to growth and addition of both new clients and projects coming down the pipeline.
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of complex equipment, including heavy machinery and conveyor systems. This role requires hands‑on expertise, innovative thinking, and collaboration across multiple departments to ensure successful project execution and high‑performance results.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed three‑dimensional models and engineering drawings of heavy machinery and conveyor systems using modern design software.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including two‑dimensional drawings, bills of materials, change notices, and product manuals.
- Conduct detailed analyses of components, assemblies, and systems, including performance evaluations and stress assessments.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing of equipment to ensure reliability and safety standards are met.
- Identify and recommend design improvements based on testing outcomes and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, project management, and procurement teams to align designs with cost, feasibility, and timeline requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to source appropriate materials and components.
- Ensure designs adhere to applicable safety and industry standards and regulations.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and project goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project management of custom equipment, heavy machinery, or metal fabrication.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing fabricated components, weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts.
- Proficiency with modern 3D design software and finite element analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and assembly.
- Familiarity with design standards for conveyor systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with motors, gear systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, including dimensioning, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability.
- Excellent project coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- A professional engineering license or equivalent certification is a plus.

Salary: $85,000 to $100,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) match.
