Ardurra’s Transportation team offers design capabilities ranging from complex multilevel interchanges to urban arterial reconstruction to complete streets for our clients. Our portfolio features a portfolio of signature projects including the I-395 Signature Bridge reconstruction project in Downtown Miami as showcased in the Engineering News-Record. Each of our designs is customized, sustainable, and cost-effective for our clients covering all project types, including Design Build or Design Bid Build.

We are looking for an engineer with experience in roadway design to support a wide range of FDOT projects. Projects will include but are not limited to minor and major/complex roadways and interchanges and will offer the opportunity to mentor and guide junior staff and be mentored by some of the top local experts in the transportation industry.
Primary FunctionThe Engineer III performs detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity (e.g., assignment involving a single engineering discipline and limited other disciplines). The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
PrimaryDuties
- Reviews and develops work product meeting the client requirements and develops specifications, drawings, instructions, models, and related documents
- Research, collect, and review data for multi-discipline transportation engineering projects
- Complete technical assignments that include planning, modeling, calculations, design, detailed cost estimates, specifications, and permitting
- Collaborates with suppliers to design and specify material/equipment
- Evaluates need for design or planning model changes and makes appropriate recommendations
- Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities
- May be on a construction site for resident engineering services reviewing construction compliance with engineering design, review of schedules and costs and invoicing
- Assures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, models and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
- May plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of Engineers I & II or CADD and lower level design staff who assist with transportation/roadway projects
- Prepares technical reports and sections of proposals as requested
- Assists the Project Manager with performing services during construction
- Assure their work has independent Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews completed
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida is highly desired
- 4+ years of progressive engineering experience in transportation design
- Proficient in Microstation and Open Roads Designer with the ability to train and supervise the technical work of Engineers I & II or CADD staff
- Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and estimates
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
- Strong analytical problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
- Proven proficiency utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment
