Overview
The Air Force Program Executive Officer for Weapons (AFPEO/WP) oversees the acquisition and sustainment of a wide range of Air Force munitions, missiles, and related systems. To support the Armament Directorate’s ongoing mission, the Air Force seeks contracted Advisory and Assistance Services (A&A S) to supplement its military and civil service workforce.
Responsibilities- Assist, prepare, develop, and deliver compliant documents in support of a variety of Logistics/Product Support activities required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of all systems, including all functions related to system readiness.
- Apply knowledge and experience to provide comprehensive logistics support in the design, development, production, operation, and sustainment of armament systems.
- Plan, develop, and execute product support strategies which span the acquisition life cycle from requirements analysis through disposal to ensure weapons system readiness.
- Provide experienced logistics and technical resources to ensure effective, efficient, and affordable product support.
- Consider all Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements (Product Support Management, Design Interface, Sustaining Engineering, Supply Support, Maintenance Planning and Management, Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T), Technical Data, Support Equipment, Training/Training Support, Manpower/Personnel, Facilities/Infrastructure, and IT Systems) and their interrelationship with other logistics providers during development, implementation, and revalidation of the product support strategy to optimize supportability, suitability, reliability, availability, maintainability, affordability, and mission capability.
- Provide acquisition/sustainment product support through Supply Chain Management (SCM) and collaborate with lead systems engineers as needed; view the supply chain as an integrated network from suppliers to Warfighter and back.
- Maintain situational awareness of the supply chain from raw material source to disposal by leveraging USG systems and relationships with other USG members, including consideration of international shipping requirements and documentation.
- Identify precious and rare earth elements including metals at time of acquisition for recycling at disposal into the National Strategic Stockpile for reuse.
- Use inputs from Original Equipment Manufacturers, Advanced Component Obsolescence Management (AVCOM), and AFMC First Looks to gather information.
- Apply SCM knowledge to provide assistance and guidance with distribution, asset visibility, cybersecurity protection, obsolescence, counterfeit parts mitigation, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (IAW DoD 4245.15), and Supply Chain Risk Management.
- Identify susceptibilities, vulnerabilities, and threats throughout the DoD’s supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to combat those threats arising from the supplier, the supplied product and its subcomponents, or the supply chain.
- Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience is required.
- Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
