We are seeking a CMT Field Technician to join our Miami, FL team.
Responsibilities- Perform construction materials testing and inspection, including soils sampling and testing, concrete sampling and testing, masonry sampling and testing, asphalt placement testing, and reinforcing steel inspection.
- Conduct field density tests using a nuclear gauge or sand cone to verify compaction of soil and aggregate base materials.
- Conduct proof rolling and subgrade evaluations.
- Communicate effectively and prepare field reports in accordance with Atlas’s report standards and applicable codes.
- Prepare daily field reports summarizing testing, results, site observations, and deviations from project specifications; communicate non-conformance issues or failing test results to project managers, contractors, or engineers promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE on-site.
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in this field.
- Ability to understand construction drawings; previous construction experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Good organizational skills, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout Florida and work at night, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to drive a company truck within guidelines and pass drug testing, MVR and background checks.
- ACI Concrete Sampling Technician I certification.
- Nuclear Soil Density Testing experience.
- Ability to understand construction drawings.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Additional certifications in asphalt are desired/ preferred.
