Technical Project Engineer II | Elbit Systems of America

Join Elbit Systems of America as a Technical Project Engineer II. This role supports planning and tactical execution of engineering content across assigned programs, serving as a key technical resource under Engineering Leadership and in direct collaboration with the Program Manager.

Job Summary

Project Engineer II will drive multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and on budget, acting as a technical liaison between engineering management, technical disciplines, and the customer. The role aligns with company business goals through effective cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities And Tasks
  • Guide and execute engineering management practices, including holding requirements technical review boards and systems engineering technical reviews.
  • Work with the DOD program environment; esp. FAR, ITAR, and FMS requirements.
  • Manage technical team ETCs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects and understand Earned Value analysis.
  • Assign specific job tasks to engineers and teams for completion and monitor progress.
  • Provide key technical insight to senior leadership in internal and external program reviews and reports.
  • Interface directly with customers through presentations, meetings, or other communication.
  • Serve as a member of the Engineering Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Support bid and proposal efforts including system architectural design, BOE creation and technical writing.
  • Use company policies and procedures to complete work assignments and assure group employees adhere to them.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licenses And Certifications
  • 4‑year degree from an accredited university in Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 3 years of project engineering experience.
  • 3‑5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) Control Account Manager (CAM) experience preferred.
  • Experience working through the System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Skills And Abilities
  • Demonstrated analytical problem‑solving.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the Defense acquisition and budget process.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.

  • 10% travel requirement; ability to travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Work environment is professional office and manufacturing. Possible exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Noise level may be loud.
  • Tasks frequently require sitting, standing, talking, using hands/fingers, reaching with arms, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
