Successful candidates for these positions will temporarily be located at a solar site within the region. Permanent work locations will be as follows: 1 incumbent at the Candlestick solar site in Madison, FL, 1 incumbent at the Persimmon solar site in Madison, FL, and 1 incumbent at the Sturgeon solar site in Jasper, FL. Once these new solar sites are commissioned, incumbents will be transferred to their permanent work locations.

Job SummaryThe Renewables Tech is primarily responsible for providing support to multiple PV plant sites located throughout Duke Energy Florida's service territory on a continual/on-demand basis, in order to troubleshoot/resolve equipment issues such as emergency repairs, design change requirements, and equipment modifications and to establish O&M support for new plant(s) start-up as well as long‑term operation and maintenance. Role will include work scheduling, maintenance, equipment installation, and start‑up support.
Position will also be responsible for supporting existing equipment performance and reliability, work to support equipment testing schedules and assigning contracts, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&M output quality.
- Troubleshoot, resolve equipment issues
- Design change requirements, and equipment modifications
- Scheduling maintenance, installation, and start-up support
- Supporting existing equipment performance and reliability
- Supporting equipment testing schedules and assigning contract testers, technicians, and engineers to appropriate tasks while developing processes to improve O&M output quality
- Ensures compliance with all operational, environmental and other regulatory and policy compliance requirements. Monitors station environmental, health and safety objectives and ensures they are met
- Provides leadership and accountability in order to achieve desired safety results (Lock Out Tag Out compliance, safety meeting attendance, contractor oversight, safety policies/procedures, work practices, etc.)

- 0-1 years of electrical maintenance or Solar PV Systems experience.
- Valid driver's license
- Associates Degree or Technical Certification / Training in the electrical field with a year or more experience, preferably in power plant or related technical industry.
