Director of Employer Recruitment (Instructional Specialist I, 12 Month Salaried)

- Lead employer recruitment initiatives and develop innovative programs to expand employment opportunities for law students.
- Oversee and expand on‑campus and early recruitment programs, including the Private Sector Recruitment Program, to increase student placement with private sector employers.
- Manage employer outreach and engagement for recruitment activities and events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for private law firm employers, maintaining regular communication regarding recruitment needs, as well as visiting employers and attending bar events.
- Draft employer invitations, update forms, provide follow‑up, and conduct employer surveys.
- Coordinate virtual and hybrid On‑Campus Interview (OCI) programs and sessions for private sector employers.
- Conduct surveys of admitted and current students to identify career goals, using this information to tailor employer outreach efforts that align with students’ practice interests and preferred locations.
- Design and deliver educational programming for first‑year law students (1
Ls) on private sector recruitment timelines and strategies. - Provide individual career counseling and feedback on application materials.
- Guide students on application processes and networking strategies to secure summer associate positions and judicial clerkships post‑graduate.
- Develop and execute programs to support students pursuing job opportunities such as Early Law Firm Hiring and 1L Meet the Firms, learning about new hiring timelines and recruitment methods for larger law firms.
- Manage sponsor ships and event logistics to ensure successful engagement between employers and students.
- Present major segments of Fall Career Services Orientation programming, Small Groups Resume and Cover Letter 1L Workshops, and "What I Can Do in My 1L Summer" session.
- Develop and present programming on interview skills and practice readiness.
- Travel on a monthly basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have a J.D. degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.
- Minimum of three years prior legal experience and/or experience related to academic advising and student programs.
- Must be able to travel on a monthly basis.
Five years prior legal experience and/or experience related to academic advising and student programs is preferred.
