The Department of Classics invites applications for a Dean’s Postdoctoral Scholar in Classics beginning August 2026. The teaching load is two courses per semester and will include courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The scholar is expected to carry out an active research program and to contribute to the intellectual life of the department, with the opportunity to co‑organize a workshop, colloquium, or similar event during the tenure of the fellowship.
QualificationsA PhD from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization is required. Eligibility is limited to individuals who have received the PhD within five years prior to the start of the appointment. The department seeks a candidate with expertise in any aspect of the ancient world. Interests that complement those of existing faculty are particularly welcome.
