Seeking a creative and student-centered Art Teacher to plan and implement a balanced art program that fosters art appreciation, develops students’ skills in visual media, and explores the historical and cultural significance of art. This role provides opportunities for students to create and showcase artwork within the school and community while delivering engaging, differentiated instruction that supports diverse learning styles, integrates technology and resources, and promotes critical, creative, and evaluative thinking.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an approved accredited educational institution.
  • Certified or qualified in accordance with Florida Statutes and State Board Rules.
  • Meet Federal High Qualified Guidelines, as applicable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of child development, especially the characteristics of students in the assigned age group
  • Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum
  • Knowledge of current educational research, especially in the field of art education
  • Knowledge of the Code of Ethics and Principles of Professional Conduct
  • Basic understanding and practical use of current technology
  • Knowledge of learning styles and ability to use varied teaching methods to address them
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with students, parents, and others
  • Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness
  • Ability to assess student achievement, analyze results, and prescribe actions for improvement
  • Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and others
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a balanced art program to include art appreciation, development of student skills in the visual media, and the historical and cultural aspects of art.
  • Provide opportunities for students to create and display art throughout the school and community.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct a variety of learning activities considering students’ learning styles and special needs to enhance critical, creative, and evaluative thinking.
  • Select, develop, modify, and/or adapt materials, technology, and resources to support learning objectives and address diverse learning needs.
  • Create goals and objectives for unit and daily plans based on district and state curriculum priorities, student profiles, and instructional priorities.
  • Identify specific intended learning outcomes that are challenging, meaningful, and measurable.
  • Apply principles of learning and effective teaching in instructional delivery.
  • Maintain academic focus by using a variety of motivational techniques.
  • Provide meaningful, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for students.
  • Sequence content and activities appropriately.
  • Maintain instructional momentum with smooth and efficient transitions between activities.
  • Provide instruction on safety procedures and proper handling of materials and equipment.
  • Assist students in assessing, interpreting, and evaluating information from multiple sources.
  • Encourage student self-assessment and assist in developing plans for performance improvement.
  • Monitor learning activities and provide feedback to improve student performance.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional units and teaching strategies.
  • Interpret and use data, including standardized and other test results, for diagnosis, planning, and program evaluation.
  • Develop and use ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
  • Administer and proctor tests in accordance with provided guidelines and maintain secure handling of materials.
  • Communicate high learning expectations for all students.
  • Foster responsibility, positive behavior, integrity, cultural appreciation, and respect through role modeling and instruction.
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with professionals, students, parents, and the community.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students regarding academic and behavioral performance.
