• Upward Bound is a federally funded pre-collegiate program for high school students. The program is designed to motivate and prepare students, with academic potential, for success in education beyond high school.
• Upward Bound Summer Residential Counselors will supervise, engage, interact, and develop activities with summer participants during the Summer Residential Academy. Summer counselors will be required to stay on campus with participants. The right candidate will demonstrate willingness, patience, and a passion for the student s advancement in post-secondary education.
• Plan and develop activities within the framework of the program
• Assist teachers in leading and monitoring summer classes, activities, and daily scheduled events
• Supervise participants at mealtimes, program activities, residence halls, trips, and as directed UB Madison Staff
• Enforces safety and operating procedures. Respond to emergencies.
• Develop an enduring & trusting relationship with participants
• Maintain punctual attendance and be committed to the entire summer program dates
• Other tasks assigned by UB-Madison Director and Program Coordinator as deemed necessary

• Must be a current student at FSU, TCC, or FAMU
• Classification:
  Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
• A 3.0 cumulative GPA
