The role involves engaging in the full scope of the academic nurse educator responsibilities, including facilitating learning, curriculum development, assessment, scholarship, and leadership within the educational environment, all under state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Create a learning environment that facilitates student success and program outcomes.
- Implement diverse teaching strategies tailored to learner needs and content.
- Assist students in developing as nurses and embodying professional values.
- Assess and evaluate student learning across various settings and domains.
- Analyze assessment data to improve course and program quality.
- Design and execute curriculum aligned with program outcomes.
- Participate in professional development to enhance faculty effectiveness.
- Maintain current nursing practice knowledge to prepare students for contemporary practice.
- Uphold the college’s mission and values including excellence, compassion, accountability, and inclusivity.
- Active, unencumbered RN license in applicable state.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; BSN candidates considered based on campus needs.
- Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
Clinical duties may involve exposure to hazards such as needle sticks and bodily fluids. The role requires mental activities like planning, evaluating, and decision-making. Physical demands are generally sedentary with occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds). Clinical activities may involve physical exertion such as lifting, pulling, or stooping. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and travel to clinical sites.
