Responsibilities- This position provides appreciative advising and guidance to lower division Honors students on program requirements and policies, manages the Honors retention policy, manages the first-year colloquium course and peer educator training course, supervises the lower division Honors advisors, manages the Honors orientation process, facilitates prospective student Information Sessions, plans and implements the first-year Honors students welcome event and serves as liaison to the affiliated Scholars programs.
- Provides appreciative advising and guidance toward completion of Honors Program requirements to Honors lower division lateral and transfer students and Honors students in the Degree in Three, More in Four, and FYA/FSA programs. Manages the Honors retention process and advises students who are not in good standing in the Honors Program. Reviews Honors upper division colloquium leader, peer mentorship and graduation applications.
Adds Honors student group in system for newly admitted lower-division Honors students. Inactivates Honors student group as needed. - Responsible for recruiting, hiring and training Honors Colloquium Leaders (peer educators) for IDH
2920 to include but not limited to creating the application, advertising the position, conducting interviews, working with UGS HR on the hiring process and teaching the Honors Colloquium Leader training course in Spring. Assigns colloquium leader teaching schedules and creates the Canvas site for colloquium leaders. - Responsible for managing the Honors first-year colloquium course (IDH 2920) including proposing changes to Honors leadership regarding course assignments, format, pedagogy, and topical units, updating syllabi, developing the Canvas site template, supervising and mentoring Honors Colloquium Leaders, and entering final course grades.
- Manages the Honors orientation process including training advisors, updating Honors information/presentation with NSFP, presenting at CIA meetings, creating staff presentation and drop-in advising schedules and facilitating summer orientation sessions and orientation drop-in advising. Plans, coordinates and implements the first-year Honors students fall welcome event.
- Trains and provides direct supervision Honors lower division advisors. Provides guidance and direction regarding academic advising processes to ensure compliance with university, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Assists with events to include but not limited to the HSF Summer Social, Open House, and Excellence in the Visual Arts ceremony, Presidential Scholars Recruitment weekend and Leadership Summit, and Honors Medallion Ceremonies. Evening and weekend hours occasionally required.
- Facilitates Honors Program prospective student information sessions both in-person and virtually and participates in Office of Admissions webinars. Meets with prospective students and their families one-on-one regarding Honors Program opportunities, policies and procedures as requested by Honors leadership. Reviews Honors admissions applications. Evening hours occasionally required.
- Serves as liaison to the Honors Medical Scholars, Honors Legal Scholars and James M. Seneff Honors programs. Participates in professional development opportunities and continues to acquire knowledge of university policies and procedures. Serves on department, division or university committees as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
A master's degree and two years of experience.

- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of academic program planning, development, and evaluation.
The daily routine of this position can vary. Some days may be filled with meetings with peer leaders about the Honors colloquium course or advising students on program requirements. Other days may include team meetings with the lower division advisors, attending meetings with Honors leadership, reviewing applications and planning the Honors Fall welcome event or meeting with prospective students and their families.
