Catholic Substitute Teacher

Overview

We are seeking a part-time
Substitute teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 13 hours per week near Tampa in Seffner, FL. Substitutes are called in as needed when staff are out sick, but the substitute can decline if not available on a particular day.

• Teach in a classical, Catholic classroom setting.
• Follow Regina Caeli Academy (RCA) standards for instruction and classroom management; curriculum and grading guidelines are provided.
• Participate in required background checks and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
• Collaborate with staff to support student learning and maintain a positive classroom environment.

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required to apply; training will be provided.
• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching your own children, or experience in a classical or private school is helpful but not required.
• Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Strong communication, organization, timeliness, and a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to one’s state in life.
• All staff must complete a clear background check.

Hours are Mondays and Thursdays only, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. The position is hourly and childcare/nursery is provided. Regina Caeli Academy operates primarily on Mondays and Thursdays in the location near Tampa, Seffner, FL.
