Information Professionals in this role focus on planning and delivering engaging programs and outreach for children and teens, both in the library and throughout the community. You’ll work directly with children, parents, and caregivers—providing information services, recommending materials, and connecting families with resources that reflect community needs and interests. Staying current with educational trends and societal shifts is essential to keeping programs relevant and impactful.
This is a hands-on, service-driven role. You’ll provide basic computer assistance and troubleshooting, report facilities and technology issues, contribute to collection maintenance, and assist with staffing coverage across locations. Depending on assignment, you may supervise staff and serve as Person in Charge, overseeing daily operations when needed.
As a frontline leader, you’ll help ensure the Library Code of Conduct is followed, addressing challenges professionally and with empathy. Information Professionals are expected to apply library policies consistently while delivering excellent customer service and upholding the mission and values of the library system.
Starting placement will generally not exceed 15% of the advertised initial salary range and is based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
$43,048.28 – $71,029.66 Annually
