Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CTE (Career and Technical Education) Teacher specializing in Welding to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding techniques and safety, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and prepare students for careers in the welding industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive welding curriculum that meets state standards and industry requirements.
Teach students various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Instruct students on the proper use and maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
Emphasize safety procedures and ensure a safe learning environment.
Assess student performance through tests, projects, and practical assessments.
Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of students.
Collaborate with other CTE teachers and industry partners to enhance the welding program.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in welding technology.
Prepare students for certification exams and entry-level employment in the welding field.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in CTE or a related field.
Extensive experience in welding, with proficiency in various welding techniques.
Strong knowledge of welding safety standards and practices.

Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for instructing high school students (grades 9-12) in welding techniques and safety practices in alignment with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) requirements. This role involves designing curriculum, delivering hands-on training, and fostering an engaging, safe learning environment that encourages skill development, problem-solving, and career exploration in welding.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement, and evaluate welding curriculum that meets the FLDOE requirements and prepare students for industry certification

Integrate technical skills with theoretical concepts, safety protocols, and workplace readiness skills.

Assess student’s welding skills and knowledge through practical exams, projects, and written tests.
Support students in attaining industry-recognized welding certifications.
Track and document student progress in alignment with school and state reporting requirements.
