Role Overview
Canvas & Company is seeking a Craft Experience Lead to design and facilitate curated, hands‑on crafting workshops in our studio. This role focuses on intentional, guided creative experiences
—not high‑volume or chaotic craft nights.
The Craft Experience Lead helps guests feel confident, supported, and inspired as they create meaningful, high‑quality projects in a calm, welcoming environment.
This is a 1099 contractor role
, ideal for experienced makers, artisans, or creatives who enjoy teaching and facilitating small‑group experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead guided crafting workshops (e.g., gift basket creation, keepsake projects, seasonal crafts, memory pieces)
- Demonstrate techniques clearly and patiently to guests of varying skill levels
- Prepare materials before sessions and assist with light cleanup after
- Maintain a calm, inclusive, and respectful group environment
- Collaborate with Canvas & Company on workshop concepts and flow
- Adapt instruction to different group sizes and experience types
- Uphold studio standards for quality, pacing, and guest experience
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a craft maker, artisan, or creative instructor
- Comfortable guiding small groups (6–20 guests)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail‑oriented with an eye for presentation and finish
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Able to follow a defined workshop structure while adding personal warmth
- Comfortable working evenings and occasional weekends
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience leading workshops, classes, or pop‑up events
- Background in gift design, floral, handmade goods, or DIY instruction
- Familiarity with adult learning or facilitation
- Ability to propose new craft workshop ideas aligned with the brand
Compensation
- Hourly pay with a defined event window
- Typical range: $25–$35 per hour
, depending on experience and event type - Paid for setup, facilitation, and breakdown within the agreed time window
- Guest material provided by us.
Schedule
- Event‑based (evenings and weekends primarily)
- No guaranteed hours; scheduled in advance per event
- Opportunity for recurring workshops and private events
