Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a HDPE Pipe Fitter and Welder on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures.

HDPE Pipe Fitter and Welder

Competitive compensation package based on experience.

• Install, lay out, align, and assemble HDPE (polyethylene) pipe ranging from 8” to 22” diameter in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
• Perform butt fusion and/or electrofusion welding of HDPE pipe using approved fusion equipment and procedures.
• Safely operate and maintain HDPE pipe fusion machines, generators, facing tools, heaters, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret project drawings, fusion logs, and manufacturer fusion parameters to ensure proper installation and weld integrity.
• Conduct fusion welds that meet or exceed quality standards, including visual inspection and documentation requirements.
• Assist with trenching, bedding, pipe placement, tie-ins, and backfill operations as required.
• Follow all company safety policies, including taking specific action to avoid other workers, equipment, and potential obstructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials.
• Perform routine inspection and basic maintenance of fusion equipment and tools.
• Work collaboratively with crew members, foremen, inspectors, and other trades to meet production schedules.
• Be willing and able to perform general manual labor when not actively fitting or welding pipe.
• Conduct all work with 100% integrity, professionalism, and commitment to quality.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience installing and welding HDPE pipe in heavy civil, utility, or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience fusing HDPE pipe in the 8”-22” size range.
