About the Role
The Preconstruction Estimator/Cost Controls Consultant prepares detailed cost estimates from high-level conceptual designs through final construction documents. In addition, this role oversees individual multi disciplined commercial real estate solutions for our energy infrastructure client with direct accountability from facility preconstruction through cost management and project controls.
This role will support our client with change orders and financial reporting for a large ground-up construction project as well as estimating duties for future construction projects. Work schedule requires onsite presence split between corporate headquarters in Juno Beach, FL and current job site in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
What You’ll Do- Research regional pricing of material and labor using published documents and market data. Adjust cost benchmarking based on client attributes, market conditions, and project specifics.
- Manage all facets of cost management for a single real estate project throughout the planning, design, construction, occupancy, and close out.
- Interface with clients on cost and project management teams to define pricing requirements and goals.
- Partner with engineering teams and take part in design and construction meetings. Guide design solutions with cost efficiencies.
- Prepare detailed bid analysis. Issue cost and pricing recommendations and input for use on the project.
- Assist internal teams when reviewing and approving change orders and invoices.
- Work with the Project Managers to produce monthly project reports. Implement cost documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements.
- Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
- Broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.

- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience with construction projects, preconstruction estimating, change orders, and cost controls.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Experience with Hive or similar project management platform.
- Ability to analyze possible construction design solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and cost precedents.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mentality.
- Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
