Roller Operator

• Operates roller in successive passes over pavement to seal mix and meet proper compaction requirements.
• Rides on platform of machine and moves levers, pedals, or throttle to control and guide machine
• Mechanical experience required to perform servicing such as oil, grease and normal adjustments to the equipment.
• Frequently performs hand tamping jobs as appropriate on areas where the roller could not reach.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Assist construction crew with various duties such as shoveling, raking, and flagging.
• Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
• Dig, spread and level construction materials.
• Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Report issues to the Foreman, Safety Supervisor or Safety Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site foremen, supervisors and fellow employees
• Must be able to work eight (8) to ten (10) hours per day, performing work outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat
• Job requires standing, kneeling, lifting up to sixty (60) pounds, pulling, squatting and walking.
• Maintain constant awareness of the jobsite’s various concurrent activities, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work.
