A well-established and expanding heavy civil contractor based in Sarasota, Florida
, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. The company specializes in underground utilities, site development, roadway, and earthwork projects throughout the region. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong communication with clients, field teams, and subcontractors.
- Manage day-to-day execution of underground utility, sitework, roadway, and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with estimating, field supervision, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review plans, specifications, and contracts to confirm scope, identify risks, and manage change orders.
- Monitor production rates, labor, equipment utilization, and material costs to optimize project performance.
- Lead project meetings with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and local/state regulations.
- Prepare and submit progress billings, forecasts, and project reports to senior leadership.
- Support procurement, subcontract administration, and closeout documentation.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners across the Sarasota region.
- 4+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction, underground utilities, sitework, or earthwork.
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
- Solid understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience with project management and scheduling software (e.g., HCSS, Procore, Primavera, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
