• Responsible for planning and managing production and safety on the project
• Ability to lead and delegate work within work scope

• Train other crew members
• Responsible for daily maintenance of equipment to remain in proper and safe working order; notify supervisor if equipment needs repair

Job Description

• Operates power driven grading machine
• Manipulates hand controls to guide machine
• Sets depth and angle of grading blade to perform finished work such as scraping and leveling dirt on highways and finishing sub grades for roads and the finished grading of road base materials.
• Balance and rough shape base course materials
• Fine grade horizontal surfaces, shoulders and slopes

Job Requirements

• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
• All work is performed outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat. Job requires long hours of standing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, squatting and walking.
• Ability to lift 0 to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Maintain constant awareness of the jobsite’s various concurrent activities, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
