About Our Job

To provide professional and highly advanced business planning and technical/analytical work for the Building Division. Includes active involvement in finance and budget planning and monitoring, research and analysis, process improvements, performance measures and building-related business functions. This position reports to the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator and works closely with the Building Division Manager in implementation of divisional business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Financial, Budget and Business Planning — Assists PDS Strategic Business Coordinator and Building Division Manager in preparing and implementing annual Building Division business plan.
  • Researches and identifies business related trends, challenges and opportunities for the Building Division.
  • Conducts financial research and business analysis and provides guidance and recommendations to the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator regarding Building Division budget strategies and proposals.
  • Provides budgetary recommendations to the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator during annual budget planning process.
  • Tracks and monitors trends with Fund 102/building-related revenues and expenditures.
  • Provides technical analysis and support with building audits.
  • Business, Operations and Process Improvements — Provides high level of gap analysis resulting in the development of improvement plans for building operations.
  • Designs and assists implementing new business procedures to meet the needs of the Building Division and to ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative guidelines.
  • Assists with evaluating, developing, standardizing and/or implementing building operational policies, procedures and/or processes.
  • Formulates, solicits and evaluates suggestions for improvements from Building Division team members and prepares action plans as appropriate.
  • Participates in analysis, updates, testing and implementation of Building Division-related technology systems.
  • Communicates new and updated policies, procedures and systems to Building Division staff to ensure compliance and consistency within the division.
  • Special Projects — Leads special building projects and initiatives pursuant to guidance from the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator, serving as project manager.
  • Prepares technical building reports, memos, tracks and completes administrative and board assignments.
  • Research and development other items such as board reports, policies and procedures relating to the Building Division.
  • Assists with performance measurement/management efforts, serving as back up to the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator.
  • Assists the PDS Strategic Business Coordinator and Building Division Manager in researching and responding to complex building issues.
  • Work Hours:

    Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
About You

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Planning or job-related field and two (2) years job-related experience OR Six (6) years professional job-related experience can be substituted at management discretion for the required education OR Related professional program/ project management may substitute for the required education at management discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three (3) years professional experience in business operations or program/project management preferred. High quality skills relating to research and analysis.

  • Advanced computer skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, Adobe Acrobat, and display a willingness to become proficient in other software/technology programs which the County may utilize
  • Knowledge of financial processes, business planning and budget processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and present information
  • Ability to use sound independent judgment
  • Knowledge of research techniques and methods of data collection, best practice research and analysis
  • Ability to create and generate comprehensive reports
About Everything Else
  • Pay: $55,500.00 - $67,932.80
