Responsibilities
The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units:
Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management's integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience - from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.
Responsible for the day to day operations of telephone communications services for the Division of Enrollment Management, which includes the Office of Admissions, the University Registrar, the Office of Financial Aid and the Visitor Center, as well as front desk operations in the office of Admissions. Counsels prospective and current students on requirements and respective deadlines. Investigates and resolves problems related to student admission, registration and/or enrollment requirements including residency, testing, and required documentation for consideration to the University.
Assesses student application/record information and evaluates the appropriate actions needed to resolve inquiries made by prospective and current students calling on matters related to the aforementioned areas.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the front desk in the Office of Admissions which would include maintaining a daily schedule for coverage, overseeing the operations of the communications phone tool in SharePoint and the direct supervision and hiring of OPS part-time employees that work at the front. Assists with daily email communication. Assists in the Office of Admissions' decision days by providing support during these notification seasons.
Assists with the selection, training, and management of student employees as front desk operators and phone operators. Monitors and critiques the customer service, problem-solving, and communications skills of staff. Serves as backup in the absence of supervisor.
Responsible for the doc typing, indexing, and routing of incoming faxes received in OnBase, the University's document imaging system. Collects, interprets, edits, and manages the content of SharePoint, the office-wide information dissemination and productivity tool used to assist with the training and daily updates for all staff in the Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Visitor Services units.
Compiles statistical data and prepares weekly reports on all and visits to the Office of Admissions and incoming calls to the Division of Enrollment Management. Works closely with area supervisors to provide data/reports and make recommendations to aid in formulating policies and procedures to increase efficiency in communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience. (
Note:
a combination of post high school education and experience equal to five years.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred.

- Candidates should have experience maintaining effective communications via email and telephone.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
- Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated salary range for this position is around $34,520.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
