Position: Program Coordinator (Student Advancement)

Program Coordinator (Student Advancement) role at Inside Higher Ed

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the office's initial point of contact with prospective and current students, alumni, faculty and public, responding to inquiries related to policies and procedures as well as all events and programs.
  • Handle all scheduling and calendar coordination for the Associate Dean, including scheduling student and prospective student appointments, arranging travel to speaking events, conferences, and other meetings, and processing office reimbursement requests.
  • Maintain confidential and highly sensitive student and bar examiner records, and compile data for internal and external reports (bar passage, summer program alumni tracking, pro bono certification, and related bar-admissions data).
  • Plan and execute arrangements for special events, speakers and programs at the law school, including guest speaker events, orientation programs, pro bono fair, Professionalism Program, Graduation and Summer for Undergraduates Program.
  • Arrange planning meetings when necessary and monitor all aspects of event such as promotion, registration, AV requests, room scheduling/after-hours building access, speaker confirmation, material preparation and event staffing.
  • Prepare related disbursements to pay vendors and speakers.
  • Work closely on all aspects of OAS and conflict exam administration and support.
  • Hire and supervise OPS staff and train staff on office procedures and maintenance.
  • Provide assistance with special projects and other duties as needed by the College of Law Office of Student Affairs.
  • Assist other offices and administrators as needed.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience (a combination of post‑high school education and experience equal to six years).
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or progress toward a degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an educational or office setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience in an academic or student support environment.
  • Previous experience with program coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple work assignments, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self‑starter ability to take the initiative to complete tasks and projects.
  • High-level organizational skills and a proactive approach to ensure tasks are not overlooked.
