We’re seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our growing team.
Role DescriptionThe Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records for the Diversified Business Units through advanced accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This position leads key components of the month‑end and year‑end close processes, prepares and analyzes financial statements, and ensures all accounting practices align with US GAAP and internal controls. The Senior Accountant provides oversight across AP/AR functions, supports audit activities, and partners with cross‑functional teams to enhance financial processes, implement system improvements, and drive operational efficiency.
This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex accounting tasks while meeting tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Salary: $90k - $95k

- Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, including preparation and review of complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for full‑cycle accounting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Develop and review monthly analytical schedules, account roll‑forwards, lead schedules, reconciliations, and variance analyses to validate account balances and provide meaningful financial insights.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting by adhering to internal calendars, close deadlines, and management reporting requirements across multiple business units.
- Oversee and support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, ensuring proper coding, cut‑off, aging review, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring processes comply with SOX requirements and corporate accounting standards.
- Serve as a key point of contact during internal and external audits, preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Research and evaluate new accounting guidance; assist with adoption of new accounting standards and ensure proper interpretation and implementation.
- Participate in and often lead special projects, including financial system implementations/upgrades, process automation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, reviewing work for accuracy and supporting their development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals, cross‑functional initiatives, and organizational needs.
- The ability to adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of any federal or state laws to either their direct supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3‑5 years of experience, public accounting experience preferred
